From the recording Angels & Eskimos

The story about a bush pilot and a minister in a bar in Alaska: The pilot says to the minister, “I tried your God business but it didn’t work for me.” “Oh yeah?” says the minister, “Tell me about it.” “My plane went down in a blizzard. I couldn’t see a thing, all of the instruments dead. I got on my knees and said, ‘God, if you rescue me, I will believe.” “Well, here you are,” said the minster, “Surely you believe!” “Naw,” said the pilot, “Some Eskimo came along and showed me the way to the village.” I wrote Angels & Eskimos  in grateful acknowledgment of the many times I’ve been guided through the metaphorical blizzards of life.
